Maris | the beautiful (and talented!) :AZ Headshot Photography:

7 Oct

I was recently blessed with being able to photograph Maris, the most recent “Elle Woods” (YES folks, you heard right!)  Of Broadway Palm’s Legally Blonde.  She was such a joy and I couldn’t believe how much my camera loved her!  It took simply no effort at all to capture her quirky, cute, fun personality.  My mom and I also recently saw her last show, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.  WHAT an amazing experience (we spent most of the show in hysterics)!  Since we had only seen the ready-for-headshots Maris, it was fun to witness her amazing theatrical side.  And just let me say… this girl has skill!  Legally Blonde will no doubt blow my socks off!  F.Y.I, it runs Oct. 6th – Nov. 12th at Broadway Palms in Mesa (hint hint).  Break a leg Maris, we’re your new biggest fans!

(last one : personal fave 😉 she’s a hoot!)

Reese Witherspoon eat your heart out!

Have a blessed weekend!

Kate {AZ headshots}

26 May

I’ve got two words to describe the beautiful Kate (. . .besides beautiful 😉  Cute n’ Sassy.  This lovely lady has got talent like you wouldn’t believe, and class to match it.  Through the whole session, she was so poised and elegant, but she also wasn’t afraid to flash those pearly whites and let loose.  Kate, you were such a joy to photograph (by the way, I hope your entire wardrobe is purple, because it looks FANTASTIC on you!!!)

Enjoy the rest of your week folks!

Love, Savanna ❤

Katrin {AZ Headshots}

30 Apr

Oh my goodness, where do I even begin.  Well, for starters, just go ahead and look at Katrin’s (Kate-rin) eyes!  Holy goodness gracious.  These eyes killed me.  I’ve said that I like blue eyes SO many times, but I am DEFINITELY turning to the green side.

They say that the eyes are the window to the soul, and what a sweet one Katrin has.  This lovely lady is studying at ASU and recently starred in Tempe Little Theatre’s production of Grey Gardens (Shiloh played the role of Jackie Bouvier, better known as, Jackie Kennedy.  She was..fantastic!  Of course 😉  Katrin is beautiful and talented (you should hear this girls voice!!!)  she is so fresh and energetic, I simply loved working with her!  Ok, I could go on and on, but I shall stop and let you look at zee pictures.

Love, Savanna ❤

‘The Boys Are Back In Town’

9 Apr

I recently had a really cool opportunity to shoot some upcoming actors, thanks to my good friend Leroy Timblin (you . are . awesome!)  These are theatre students of Leroy’s at GCC.  They were quite a diverse bunch, and we had a really good day.  Here are a few of my favorites.

:Savanna:

Ben, the next Heath Ledger. . .wouldn’t you agree?  I could not get over his bone structure, the camera loved him!  He’s an artistic, quirky soul.  (just check out the socks!!!)

Frank, the man of a thousand faces.  He is an upcoming stand-up comedian, a nice contrast to his quiet side.  Look out Steve Martin!

As many of you know, I’m a sucker for blue eyes, and these were as blue as they get!  Jake was so easy-going and an all-American, nice guy.

Can you say Orlando Bloom?  And any guy that feels comfortable in purple is o.k. in my book.  JJ was another super laid-back guy and was getting ready to celebrate his 21st birthday.

I shot Wesley last, and he made for an enjoyable ending to a fun, unique day.  He was super fun to talk to and was game for all my ideas.

Going into it, I didn’t really know what to expect because I had never shot so many people back-to-back.  But the time flew by because we really were having fun!  I can’t wait to see what’s in store for all of these talented thespians, and to be able to say, “I knew them when. . .”

Dean and Debbie {Headshots : Couples : AZ Photography}

30 Mar

I recently had the pleasure of shooting two of the sweetest people on the planet.  It has been two years since my parents put on their first theatre production, Little Women, where Dean starred as Mr. March.  Boy oh boy does time fly!!!  So now that you know how long I’ve known these two 😛 let’s get down to the fun part.  Dean and Debbie were such a joy to photograph, it was constant smiles and laughter from beginning to end.  And, since Dean is an actor (a pretty darn amazing one at that!) we shot some headshots as well.

Thank you both so much for being game, fun, and making my job SO enjoyable!  I can’t wait to work with you again someday soon.

Love ❤

Summer Photoshoots

10 Jun

Something I am definitely looking forward to in the next few weeks!  Though photoshoots in the middle of June aren’t exactly… enjoyable in Arizona weather.  But, they are always fun, none the less.

Totally off topic, but something I noticed that seemed funny to me =)  School is done, but everybody has already started talking about what they are going to do next year!  Seriously people!!  I think us highschoolers just gravitate towards school subjects… odd.

So far, the summer has been filled with sleepovers, (lots of water!!!! my healthy note for the day 😉 Tons and TONSSSSS of strawberries!!!! lazy days by the pool, and summer shopping!!  (also, BIG NEWS!!!!!!)  I was blessed with a new computer!! (EEP!)  There’s nothing more amazing than that fresh smell of a new computer (you may be thinking I’m odd right now, but hopefully some of you can relate).  The sound of the new keyboard, the feel of the new mouse.  It took everything in my being not to SCREAM when that truck pulled up to my house, and the mail guy carried that big box up to my door!  Let’s just say… it involved a happy dance and wayyyyyy too much coffee that day. heehee*

But, since this is my photography blog, I should probably get on and post something… photographic-like.

I recently did this photoshoot with my dear friends Tess and Leroy.  Leroy is the technical director for my parents production company (Command Performers), and Tess is his lovely girlfriend / awesome, really really fun person!

First order of business was, Tess’s headshots.  Tess is such a delightful person to be around, and you can’t help but smile when she laughs.  Second, we headed over to a beautiful area of town, where we did a few together.  I honestly don’t think there was a moment where they weren’t laughing or smiling.  It is so cute to watch, Leroy says some of the funniest things, which in turn makes Tess more giddy.  It is simply precious.  The day was great, and it ended perfectly when they came over to hang and eat some pizza =)

I had so much fun with you both, enjoy your pictures.  And to everyone else, enjoy the rest of your week doing whatever it is you do, living life the way you do.  But always remember my life motto : smile a lot =)

Savanna ❤

WORK IT girl!!!!

We all thought this looked very Euro. You’re so beautiful Tess!

OH my GOODNESS!  Favorite of the day!! (now on the couples!!)

ooh!!!! This is DEFINITELY right up there : as far as photo of the day goes.

heehee* Love this rustic look!

Tess, you sure have found a special guy.  And Leroy, treasure her forever ❤

Special moments, looooove them!!!!

sweetness. pure. and simple.

ugh! You people are driving me crazy! This is just too adorable!! (see what I mean? He would make a face and she would just bust up!)

I’m sure you’ve heard, but I’ll say it again. I LOVE symmetrical pictures!! They just feel… right =)

That’s it for now, I promise it won’t take as long for me to post next time 😉

Happy Summer!!
