Thank God for sisters & sunsets! {AZ FUN Photography}

8 Feb

What do you do when you have a photography project due in two days and your mind is blank?

You panic.  jkjk 😉  But thank GOODNESS for willing sisters and gorrrgeous sunsets, or panicking is EXACTLY what I would have been doing!  As we were all aflutter about picking an outfit and sticking on some makeup, all I was worried about was losing light!!!  Mental freak outs are never fun.  Thankfully we caught this sunset lighting JUST in the nick of time, and man-oh-man was it fantastic!  With the sun behind my sister it provided some grain yet there was still some light on her face.  But when I turned around and had the sun behind ME, ohhhgoodlordyabove, I just about died.

Thanks leetle sis for being game and so willing, you’re simply stunning and I’m SO grateful for you (and on a side-note, you were a huge hit in class as well 😉  I’m so lucky to have such a good-lookin sibling)

Hope you all have a fabulous rest of the week!

Love, Savanna

AAAnd the winning photo folks.

The end!

22 Jul

Hey folks.  I’ve been M.I.A. for a while, but I’ve had a good excuse!  I’ve been working on my new WEBSITE!!!!!  And I am proud to announce, it is up, it is running, I am very proud of it, and you should go check it out!  Some new posts to come soon, but for now. . . drum roll please. . .I give you;

Ok, I won’t leave you totally photo-less.  Here’s one of my recent favorites.  This is my awesome/beautiful/fantastic/crazy/fun/cool friend Taylor, and the prop?  Oh ya, my sister’s snake {aka, my newest roommate, Ace.}  Taylor has no fear, I on the other hand was backing away every time he moved.  But, I LOVE the way this turned out.

Can you say FIERRRCE?!?!?!???

Shiloh and Zoe {Just.For.Fun | AZ shoots}

30 Apr

It’s been quite some time since you’ve seen my little sister’s beautiful face, but recently I had the perfect excuse to put it up on my blog again 🙂  Zoe and Shiloh met while doing Tempe Live Theatre’s Grey Gardens, Shiloh played the role of Jackie Bouvier (Kennedy) and Zoe her younger sister, Lee (Radziwill).  They had such a great time, and after one of the matinee performances, we had a little fun.  If you have never been to the Tempe Center for the Performing Arts, go there.  It’s gorgeous, and perfect for just a little walk around.  The sky was marvelous, and SUPER blue, this shoot was so much fun and, the models were pretty fantastic, to say the least.

Since I missed Easter, I hope everyone’s was wonderful.

Love, Savanna

Danielle {an Urban shoot}

22 Mar

This is Danielle.  She has pretty eyes.  She’s fun and crazy and a great friend.  She likes Diet Coke and jumping on trampolines.  I don’t like Diet Coke, but we jumped on zee trampoline and had a grand ‘ol day.  Her house is also AWESOME and a photographers playground!  Thanks for putting up with my crazy ideas and poses Dani girl.  You’re the best!

Love her smile!!!

There is this awesome tree by her house that had PERFECT sun exposure, and just overall wonderful lighting. . .I pretty much flipped out when I saw it.  It’s in the middle of a dirt field, literally.  And it’s big and gorgeous.  And boyyy did my camera love it beside this beautiful girl.

Aaand. . .here’s one of us. . .on the trampoline. . .as I’ve previously stated 😛  Aaand. . .me being a doof. . .as usual 😉

Love, Savanna ❤

Gorgeous Grace {a glamour shoot}

10 Jul

This is my friend.

Her name is Grace.

She’s pretty much…gorgeous!

She is such a lovely young lady with a crazy fun personality!!

I love this girl so much.

Grace, God has so worked in our lives to even bring us to where we are today.

We’ve been through a lot, and you’ve always been such an amazing friend!

Love you like crazy chika ❤

That’s all I have to say about that!

Ok, maybe I have some more to say 😉 I usually do.

I was going for an {Urban, sleek, colorful, woodsy} look, and I really like the way these turned out!

Funny story, I picked this chair up from a garage sale and loved it!  But… after sitting a few weeks in my shed, I figured I would probably never use it.  Well this little brown chair had different plans 😉  It worked right in to this shoot! {love when that happens!}

Hope you enjoyed the {2-post} thing again 😉  I think I’m contradicting myself when I said (a while ago) that this wouldn’t happen for a long time!  But… I guess you’ll just have to live with that broken promise =)  I think that’s the best broken promise I’ve ever heard!

Had fun doin’ your hair and hangin’ out friend ❤ (thanks for letting me practice my “straightener curls”)  They turned out GREAT!  And you looked BEAUTIFUL!! (like you usually do =)  And thanks for putting up with my crazy ideas (like the wheelbarrow) and poses. You added your flair!

Now, {once again} enjoy your weekend, I know I will!

I told her to work the face, I think she nailed it 😉

Have I said how she knows how to turn on the FEEEEIRCE?!? Well, I’m sayin’ it now!

I think this is the only horizontal picture I took through the entire shoot! I have a special bond with my verticals 😉

I think this has so be one of my faaaaavorite pictures…possibly ever!

And check out those EYES!  I swear, I didn’t even TOUCH them! Ridiculous!!!!

Haha! Then we pulled out the famous wheelbarrow.  And I must say, for this shot!  It was SOOO worth it!

Bella {a princess shoot}

10 Jul

Now I don’t know if you could really consider this a “photoshoot”, but hey!  Life is just one big photoshoot, so I shall classify this as one =)

This pretty little girl turned 4 the day we took these pictures!  My sister and I have babysat Bella and her older brother Drew since they were born (basically).

And they are such little joys.  (there are no pix of Drew because the kid doesn’t like his pictures taken apparently 😉

The minute I found out this little girl had a tutu, I FLIPPED!!  So we stuck it on and she smiled her way through these pictures.

Thank you Bella-loo for putting up with this crazy photographer =P

Anyway, I hope you have a blessed weekend and thanks for checkin’ (or following!!) my blog!

Normally I would think this angle is… odd!  I seriously don’t know what I like about it, but I do! Comments??

Isn’t she precious?!?!???

What a lovely, pretty little princess ❤

:The End:

Summer Photoshoots

10 Jun

Something I am definitely looking forward to in the next few weeks!  Though photoshoots in the middle of June aren’t exactly… enjoyable in Arizona weather.  But, they are always fun, none the less.

Totally off topic, but something I noticed that seemed funny to me =)  School is done, but everybody has already started talking about what they are going to do next year!  Seriously people!!  I think us highschoolers just gravitate towards school subjects… odd.

So far, the summer has been filled with sleepovers, (lots of water!!!! my healthy note for the day 😉 Tons and TONSSSSS of strawberries!!!! lazy days by the pool, and summer shopping!!  (also, BIG NEWS!!!!!!)  I was blessed with a new computer!! (EEP!)  There’s nothing more amazing than that fresh smell of a new computer (you may be thinking I’m odd right now, but hopefully some of you can relate).  The sound of the new keyboard, the feel of the new mouse.  It took everything in my being not to SCREAM when that truck pulled up to my house, and the mail guy carried that big box up to my door!  Let’s just say… it involved a happy dance and wayyyyyy too much coffee that day. heehee*

But, since this is my photography blog, I should probably get on and post something… photographic-like.

I recently did this photoshoot with my dear friends Tess and Leroy.  Leroy is the technical director for my parents production company (Command Performers), and Tess is his lovely girlfriend / awesome, really really fun person!

First order of business was, Tess’s headshots.  Tess is such a delightful person to be around, and you can’t help but smile when she laughs.  Second, we headed over to a beautiful area of town, where we did a few together.  I honestly don’t think there was a moment where they weren’t laughing or smiling.  It is so cute to watch, Leroy says some of the funniest things, which in turn makes Tess more giddy.  It is simply precious.  The day was great, and it ended perfectly when they came over to hang and eat some pizza =)

I had so much fun with you both, enjoy your pictures.  And to everyone else, enjoy the rest of your week doing whatever it is you do, living life the way you do.  But always remember my life motto : smile a lot =)

Savanna ❤

WORK IT girl!!!!

We all thought this looked very Euro. You’re so beautiful Tess!

OH my GOODNESS!  Favorite of the day!! (now on the couples!!)

ooh!!!! This is DEFINITELY right up there : as far as photo of the day goes.

heehee* Love this rustic look!

Tess, you sure have found a special guy.  And Leroy, treasure her forever ❤

Special moments, looooove them!!!!

sweetness. pure. and simple.

ugh! You people are driving me crazy! This is just too adorable!! (see what I mean? He would make a face and she would just bust up!)

I’m sure you’ve heard, but I’ll say it again. I LOVE symmetrical pictures!! They just feel… right =)

That’s it for now, I promise it won’t take as long for me to post next time 😉

Happy Summer!!
